Make | 6×8 Layout – Photobooth

6x8 Layout | Photobooth

I busted this layout out almost as soon as I got home from this trip…boyfriendman and I took these at a photobooth in Nashville (located in the Third Man Records shop), and I just love it. Even though I couldn’t figure out where the hell to look at the camera.

I really wanted to add a title on this, but nothing was working directly on the patterned paper, so I lined alphabet stickers along the side of the photo instead. I also stamped a bunch of phrases on the pink cardstock strip with a couple different roller phrase stamps. So easy to put together! I’ve never made a 6×8 layout before, but this size worked perfectly for this, and I might experiment with it more in the future.

I’m really stoked that I have been working on these photos so soon, I usually let trip stuff sit for a thousand years because it’s so overwhelming!

Make | 6×8 Project Life – January

6x8 Project Life - January

I’m back in Seattle, with a whole lot to get done before boyfriendman and I head off to England in a few weeks. More adventures, YAY!

I spent the weekend furiously printing up pics and prepping my Project Life album with the stuff from our recent trip to Missouri/Tennessee/Mississippi. So excited to be with my pretty papers and scrapping again. (Hopefully I’ll get some of that up soon)

6x8 Project Life - January (2nd spread)

In the meantime, here’s a two-parter spread from January. Once again, I cut down a page protector to add in between this spread to make more room for photos and journaling….I love this technique, but it’s why I’m beyond excited for those new Simple Stories 4×6 protectors to come out.

It’s been super gorgeous in Seattle, hope the rest of the country gets thawed out soon! (It snowed while visiting my family in Mississippi, just craziness everywhere)

6x8 Project Life | January

Heyooooo! It’s the first spread of my 2015 album! I still have a crap-ton of 2014 to finish, but I’ve got a pretty good start on January stuff, so thought I’d start posting it.

Since I used an 8×8 layout for the title page of this album (shown in this post), I thought it would be fun to cut a giant clock image from my Cameo to put on the other side. Final countdown and all that. And yes, I screwed up centering it on the paper…DOH!

I had a couple other photos I wanted to stick in this spread, so I cut out a 4×6 pocket (from a 6×8 page) to put in front of the full page to give me more room to work with. It also contains the journaling, so this isn’t just a “here’s a photo figure out what we did” kind of page.

On a final note, that quote sticker has been in my stash since 2002. I know this because the price tag was dated. Better late than never, right?

Supplies Used: clock die cut (Silhouette Design Store), patterned paper (Studio Calico and Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 pad), quote (Wordsworth)

Make | 8×8 & 6×8 Project Life – November

6x8 Project Life | November | Blackbird Darlin

Maybe you look at this spread, and are wondering why I didn’t just use a full 6×8 page for the left side. Because I’m particular, I have to store my pages in exact chronological order, and I have a photo from a few days before this that I really want to scrap as a layout, not a pocket page. (I haven’t actually done that page yet, but at least there’s a spot reserved for it)

The photos after that I didn’t want to put in layout form, and I didn’t want to leave a big blank space, so this is where my modern day ephemera comes in handy! This catalog page was a bit too small though, so I stuck it on a piece of white 8×8 cardstock, and then ran a strip of washi down the side to fill it in a bit.

The card with the pile of books were cut out from a piece of 12×12 patterned paper, and the library Date Due card actually came from the Seattle Public Library. (In a package at the gift shop, I didn’t just jack them for scrapbooking purposes)

All the pink in this makes me happy. And the fact that Amy Poehler matches my Notes & Things paper.

Supplies Used: patterned paper (Crate Paper Notes & Things 6×6 pad and October Afternoon Milk Money), “currently loving” stamp (Citrus Twist Dec ’14 Pocket Life kit), alpha stamps (Oh lordy, I don’t remember, they’re old stash!)

Here’s a good example of why I love having my square photos printed as 3×4’s…I have lots of little stamp phrases, and they’re SO PERFECT for using on that blank area! I don’t plan on doing that with every photo, but the “here we go again” and “on track” felt so spot on for those photos.

This spread really makes me happy though for the ephemera added to it. The whole appeal of pocket pages for me was finally having a way of adding that into my albums, so I love how much more real life my printed ticket and coffee cup sleeve add to this.

I love pretty for the sake of pretty, but looking back on things like this will have way more meaning I think. Especially when “long distance” is no longer attached to my relationship status. HA! ;)
