Quote | “Come Josephine…”

Lyrics | Come Josephine In My Flying Machine

I keep getting this lyric randomly stuck in my head. If you were a teenage girl in the 90’s, then you know how you first heard of this song.

This month marks SIXTEEN FREAKING YEARS since Titanic’s release. I was crazy obsessed with the movie (it’s still the only one I’ve seen three times in a theater), and I think my insane Gatsby excitement this past year has reverted me back a bit to this one.

Watch this if you want to get some of those teenage feelings back. And of course, here is the 1911 Ada Jones and Billy Murray version of the song.

Oh yeah, and Mr. Burns rendition.

Quote | “Decide what to be…”

Lyrics | Head Full Of Doubt | The Avett Brothers

I have this problem with perfection. To the point it actually interferes with what I love most. (Being dorky with paper)

It’s the dumbest thing ever, I mean seriously.

So, I’m changing the way I’ve done these lyric posts in the past…instead of graphic images, I’m going to allow myself to just play with my craft supplies instead, using words I love, and not worry about perfect picture placement, the right sentiment, or just screwing up something.

Making the above 6×6 of The Avett Brothers, “Head Full of Doubt, Road Full of Promise” and getting this photographed and posted has taken me about an hour and half.

Which is kind of amazing for me. BOOYAH GRANDMA.

Supplies: paper from Lawn Fawn, bird washi tape from Pretty Tape, woodgrain cardstock from LCI Paper, photo corners, Dymo Caption Maker, and Quickutz Studio Classic alphabet

Make | 6×6 Layout – Seine Side

I’m not a 6×6 scrapbooker. So, I’m not really sure what happened here.

An adorable polka dot paper from Teresa Collins Far and Away 6×6 pad, and an experimental 3×4 polaroid print (my camera just became a not-so-Instamax!) resulted in this. I mounted the pic with kraft photo corners, added a short border using the Fiskars Threading Water punch, and then date stamp and handwriting with a Sharpie on the white picture border to finish it off. YAY!

Since I don’t really have an album to put this in right now, I decided to paint an 8×8 block of wood with white acrylic paint, Super Glue a bulldog clip on the top (all found at my local Blick store), and use it to display little pages like this when I’m in the mood to scrap a pic or two, but don’t want to commit to a 12×12.

Fun and easy!
