Four Favorites

It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these, so here’s a few things in the the scrappy world that I’m drooling over…

1) This travel themed stamp set from Kerri Bradford is so high on my want list right now!

2) I adore the designs Studio Calico releases for Project Life, but have never bought a kit due to those dagblasted rounded corners. They’ve recently started releasing them in digital format though, which made me super giddy…the round corners are still printed on the cards (WHY), but at least with the digital version, I can cut it so the edges are straight. ;)

3) I actually don’t know if these are new from them or not, but these woodgrain alpha stickers from October Afternoon? Yes, please!

4) So madly in love with this pretty floral washi tape <3 (Can be found in some other Etsy washi shops)

Make | 6×8 Project Life – January

6x8 Project Life | January

I don’t know about you guys, but when the Pantone Color of the Year was announced for 2015, it was met with a “blegh” in my brain. A great lipstick color maybe, but otherwise…kinda meh. (To me anyway) So when I came across this page in a magazine, I thought it would be a fun addition to my book, but definitely with a note about it.

Thus, the “not so great” stamp on the bottom.

I ♥ phrase stamps.

Supplies Used: journaling card and phrase stamp (Citrus Twist Pocket Life kit), label sticker (Cosmo Cricket), label, washi tape

Make | 6×8 Layout – Photobooth

6x8 Layout | Photobooth

I busted this layout out almost as soon as I got home from this trip…boyfriendman and I took these at a photobooth in Nashville (located in the Third Man Records shop), and I just love it. Even though I couldn’t figure out where the hell to look at the camera.

I really wanted to add a title on this, but nothing was working directly on the patterned paper, so I lined alphabet stickers along the side of the photo instead. I also stamped a bunch of phrases on the pink cardstock strip with a couple different roller phrase stamps. So easy to put together! I’ve never made a 6×8 layout before, but this size worked perfectly for this, and I might experiment with it more in the future.

I’m really stoked that I have been working on these photos so soon, I usually let trip stuff sit for a thousand years because it’s so overwhelming!

6x8 Layout | Photobooth 2

Supplies Used: patterned paper (cut from Maggie Holmes Open Book 12×12 paper), letter stickers (Maggie Holmes Open Book cardstock stickers), phrase stamps (Dear Lizzy, Amy Tangerine, and Studio Calico)

Love | Sunday Song #4

Since my trip down South to spend time in Nashville (and then with my family in Mississippi), there’s been a lot of Willie, Johnny, and Patsy rolling around in my ears, and I’m not ready to come back up from that yet.

So yep, this song is perfect lately.

Make | Art Journal Cover

Make - Art Journal cover

Before I did anything to this notebook, the cover looked like this. EW. No.

I took the cover off, painted the edge gold, pasted this PERFECT piece of Maggie Holmes paper on top, embellished a bit, and now I’m madly in love with it.

After all the downsizing I’ve been doing, it seems funny that I went with a large format for art journaling. I haven’t done a whole lot in it yet, but I do love having a place to practice with the messier supplies I have!
