Make | 8×8 Layout – Lost Lake

8x8 Layout | Lost Lake | Blackbird Darlin

Okay, first off, I swear I do things other than just eating brunch. It just seems to be the thing I always want to take pictures of for some reason.

I wanted to replicate the font used on the menus for this place, so I mixed the uppercase “L” from the Quickutz Magnolia alphabet, and the lowercase letters are from the Zoe alphabet. Not an exact match, but I still love how it came out!

Animal carcasses on walls are kind of a thing at bars/restaurants in my neighborhood, so I couldn’t resist fussy cutting out a deer head for this one. I’m sure it’ll happen again, because I’m fully on board the deer head trend in papercrafting. Way less freaky than the real ones mounted in my Meme’s den in the 80’s.

Supplies Used: cardstock (Bazzill), woodgrain cardstock (LCI Paper), graph patterned paper (Scenic Route), deer (fussy cut from Carta Bella Wildflower paper) border sticker (Basic Grey Clippings Elements), die cut letters (Quickutz Magnolia and Zoe alphabet), brown Micron pen, photo corners, date stamp

Thanks Asa, one of my favorite Target finds (the hat, not the photo corners) ;)

I have always found the dear head embellishments/motif just weird. Nothing wrong with brunch layouts though. I was one of those people taking photos of food before it was cool ;)

You know, I don’t think I have a single photo of food, because as soon as it’s in front of me, all I can think about is eating it! It always ends up being the agonizing wait beforehand that I document lol

Nice layout – replicating the font off the menu is a really nice touch.

I wish you could have seen the “deer head” that Chris and Jon “pimped out” when they were living in Aunt Dollye’s house. :)

LOVE your layouts, and loved strolling down Quickutz (& paper) memory lane. (I treasure every QC alphabet and the endless variety of possibilities!!)
