Make | 6×8 Pocket Page – 20’s Party

6x8 Project Life | 20's Party | Blackbird Darlin

I’m thinking I should probably not do hand journaling on my pages after multiple cups of coffee. BLEEERGGG.

I think my favorite reason for using pocket pages is that those random little photos that might not be the best quality finally have a place they look good in. I have a few more photos from this event, but they’re small, dark, and grainy. (We were having a good time, so pictures weren’t really top priority!) Those will be added to the back side of this page…since I’m inserting it into an album that has traditional layouts, and I don’t scrap in order, making this a spread wouldn’t work. And quite frankly, I’m okay with it being a front/back layout rather than a spread.

The journaling cards you see here are free printables (YAY!), so check out the links below if you’d like to add them to your stash. The bottom right card actually has a giant ampersand in the middle of it, but my sentiment fit perfectly on top of it. For the bottom left card, I stamped a couple phrases on it in gold ink (I love that Kate Spade stamp so much). Top right is just a piece of black cardstock with a gold doily glued on top…I was so excited when the Maggie Holmes chipboard piece fit perfectly on this Instax print, it’s my favorite detail!

A little more elaborate than my last attempt, but still just simple enough for me.

Everytime I come to your blog, I leave humming, “Blackbird singing in the dead of night…take these broken wings and learn to fly….all my life……”

Love it! I am not a gold jewelry person, but I am soooo loving gold on scrap pages. Love the doily too! But most of all, I do love that photo.
I have lots of photos like the situation you say, so I am thinking about using a little album like this to scrap them as well.

Cute page, love how the stamped phrase looks on the printable! I agree, pocket style scrapbooking is perfect for those oddball, random, or less than perfect photos! :)

I am so with you on the pocket pages being perfect for less than excellent photos. The smaller you print them, the better they look! I haven’t tried this 6×8 size yet, but it looks really fun. :)

Tammy – I LOVE mixing this size in with my 8×8 layouts, the smaller sizes are so much fun to work with!
