Make | Card – “Hey There, Handsome”

Card | Hey, There Handsome

I had such good intentions to make stuff this week. But I have been doing everything BUT being creative lately, AGH! I made myself sit down yesterday with a very limited selection of product (and a very limited amount of time), and made this crazy simple card.

Three different pieces of 6×6 paper, and a little embellishment, and that’s it!

Oh, and yes, I purposely tried to make something not pink and girly for once.

Supplies Used: patterned paper (Crate Paper Craft Market 6×6 pad), sentiment (cut from Heidi Swapp September Skies 6×6 paper), chipboard hearts (Studio Calico)

Make | 6×8 Project Life – January

6x8 Project Life | January

I don’t know about you guys, but when the Pantone Color of the Year was announced for 2015, it was met with a “blegh” in my brain. A great lipstick color maybe, but otherwise…kinda meh. (To me anyway) So when I came across this page in a magazine, I thought it would be a fun addition to my book, but definitely with a note about it.

Thus, the “not so great” stamp on the bottom.

I ♥ phrase stamps.

Make | 6×8 Layout – Photobooth

6x8 Layout | Photobooth

I busted this layout out almost as soon as I got home from this trip…boyfriendman and I took these at a photobooth in Nashville (located in the Third Man Records shop), and I just love it. Even though I couldn’t figure out where the hell to look at the camera.

I really wanted to add a title on this, but nothing was working directly on the patterned paper, so I lined alphabet stickers along the side of the photo instead. I also stamped a bunch of phrases on the pink cardstock strip with a couple different roller phrase stamps. So easy to put together! I’ve never made a 6×8 layout before, but this size worked perfectly for this, and I might experiment with it more in the future.

I’m really stoked that I have been working on these photos so soon, I usually let trip stuff sit for a thousand years because it’s so overwhelming!

Make | Art Journal Cover

Make - Art Journal cover

Before I did anything to this notebook, the cover looked like this. EW. No.

I took the cover off, painted the edge gold, pasted this PERFECT piece of Maggie Holmes paper on top, embellished a bit, and now I’m madly in love with it.

After all the downsizing I’ve been doing, it seems funny that I went with a large format for art journaling. I haven’t done a whole lot in it yet, but I do love having a place to practice with the messier supplies I have!

Make | 6×8 Project Life – January

6x8 Project Life - January

I’m back in Seattle, with a whole lot to get done before boyfriendman and I head off to England in a few weeks. More adventures, YAY!

I spent the weekend furiously printing up pics and prepping my Project Life album with the stuff from our recent trip to Missouri/Tennessee/Mississippi. So excited to be with my pretty papers and scrapping again. (Hopefully I’ll get some of that up soon)

6x8 Project Life - January (2nd spread)

In the meantime, here’s a two-parter spread from January. Once again, I cut down a page protector to add in between this spread to make more room for photos and journaling….I love this technique, but it’s why I’m beyond excited for those new Simple Stories 4×6 protectors to come out.

I NEED. SO BAD.

It’s been super gorgeous in Seattle, hope the rest of the country gets thawed out soon! (It snowed while visiting my family in Mississippi, just craziness everywhere)
